Job Advertisement: Nurse at the Infection Clinic
In Region Kronoberg, we are 6,500 people working for the best of the residents of Kronoberg – every day! We are responsible for healthcare, public transport, regional development, and culture in the county. Our goal is for our employees to thrive, grow in their professional roles, and influence their workday.
The Infection Clinic is a small clinic with short decision-making paths and great opportunities for development in your professional role. We have a county-wide operation within infectious disease care. The clinic has a care department and a reception that includes needle exchange and extensive consulting services in Växjö and Ljungby. About 50 employees work at the clinic.
As a nurse with us in the infection department, you will have a varied job and become an important part of the team around the patient. The work team includes experienced colleagues, and our various professional categories collaborate closely with each other, creating security, good support, and a wonderful work environment.
In the department, we have about 30 employees, and we have a close collaboration with the reception. We handle a broad patient group with high patient turnover, which means a large patient flow. The pace can vary, but we often work at a high tempo as we care for acutely ill patients. Competence development is important to us, and through regular internal training held by our doctors, you will continuously develop and learn new things.
We are two managers working in a shared leadership model, which means that we are always available for our employees. By sharing responsibility, we can ensure that at least one of us is always present to quickly provide support and guidance. Our office is close to the department, which allows us to have a natural presence and be readily available in daily operations. This gives us the opportunity to be involved in the operations and quickly make decisions when needed.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
As a nurse with us, you will have a broad and developing role where you are a key person in the team around the patient. The work is varied, educational, and characterized by a high pace with a large patient flow. You will meet patients of all ages with different types of infectious diseases, from acute to chronic conditions, giving you the opportunity to build deep expertise in a constantly evolving field.
Your role includes:
- Standard nursing tasks within medicine, care, and documentation
- Care planning and contact with relatives
- Isolation care and work with protective equipment
- Rounds and collaboration with doctors and nursing assistants
- A broad patient group with varying needs from completely dependent to independent
You will be part of an engaged and curious team where collaboration, support, and knowledge sharing are a natural part of everyday life. We have a close collaboration with the reception, which is adjacent, providing good access to expertise and opportunities for development. Doctors are available on-site and actively contribute to both care and your professional development.
We offer a tailored introduction over eight weeks. You will have time to settle into the work at your own pace, and we ensure that you have support all the way. The position is a rotation position with work during days, evenings, weekends, and nights.
Are you a recent graduate? Then you will be part of Region Kronoberg's development program that facilitates the transition from education to working life. We want to give you a good and secure start in your new profession as a nurse.
We offer a wide range of employee benefits for those who choose to work within Region Kronoberg. Those who work unsociable hours receive increased OB compensation, and for those who alternate between day and night work, we also have an increased night index.
