Teacher of Home Economics at Sickla School

The position is a permanent employment at 20 percent during the spring term of 2026.

The employment rate will gradually increase to about 30 percent in the autumn term of 2026 and 40 percent in the autumn term of 2027. In the long term, depending on subject qualifications, there may be opportunities for even higher employment rates.

Your mission

In the role of teacher, you will initially teach students in grade 6 in home economics, but as the school grows, you will also teach students in grade 8. You are responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating the teaching in your subject based on the curriculum. You adapt the teaching according to the students' needs, interests, and conditions. You follow up, assess, grade, and document students' knowledge development.

You are responsible for creating trusting relationships with students, colleagues, and guardians. To create good conditions for the students, you collaborate closely with other teachers, school management, student health teams, and, if necessary, the special education team. Mentorship may be included in the assignment in the future.

You belong to the work team for grades 4-7. You collaborate regarding students, planning, assessment, grading, pedagogical development work, and systematic quality work.

Your experience

For this position, you are required to have:

• teacher certification with subject qualifications for grades 6-9 in home economics
• experience working in a school
• good digital competence with experience working with digital pedagogical tools
• good ability to express yourself well in Swedish, both orally and in writing.

It is advantageous if you also have:

• experience working as a teacher
• experience teaching students in grades 6-8 in home economics
• subject qualifications for grades 6-9 in other subjects than French, preferably science, social studies, Swedish, and/or Swedish as a second language
• experience in mentorship
• experience working with students in need of extra adjustments and special support.

Sickla School is currently a K-7 school (soon to be K-9) that has been remodeled and renovated to meet future needs. We have now moved into both newly built and renovated premises. Our modern learning environments include a library, creative aesthetic classrooms, and fully equipped special classrooms for science, technology, and home economics. We also have a kitchen where food is prepared from scratch and a chef who was recently awarded in the competition for Sweden's public meals.
