The Swedish Armed Forces are growing and are now looking for a Supply Officer for the Supply Department (FörsA) in Sollefteå's command section, a social person who enjoys problem-solving and is eager to dive into both documents and data systems. About the Unit

The Västernorrland Regiment with the Jämtland Field Ranger Corps, I 21, was re-established in 2022. The unit operates in three locations - Sollefteå, Östersund, and Härnösand - which are responsible for training and maintaining two independent infantry battalions and the Military Base Sollefteå.

About the Department & Section

FörsA Sollefteå is part of the I21 Logistics Unit, which consists of approximately 30 employees. The department's task is to provide the supplies and transport that the units need to carry out their operations, according to applicable directives and regulations. This includes handling goods, weapons, ammunition, personal equipment, catering, fuel, and waste, as well as accounting for all materials in the Armed Forces' support systems. The command section's role is to lead and distribute work at FörsA Sollefteå and support the staff in matters of substance. The section has a coordinating function and should offer specialized competence regarding operations and the Armed Forces' support systems.

Main Responsibilities

The position is administrative and consists of handling cases, participating in planning, management, and follow-up within the department, such as:

  • Processing incoming directives and regulations
  • Conducting registry maintenance in the FM support systems.
  • Responsible for monitoring the department's budget.
  • Daily support for staff in logistics-related questions
  • Managing orders from civilian suppliers
  • Supporting sections with material needs assessment

Personal Qualities

We are looking for someone who is meticulous, curious, and has strong social skills. You should be driven to find solutions and not shy away from digging for information. You need to be comfortable working in various data systems as the job is partially administratively heavy. You should be able to work independently as well as in a team and be loyal, flexible, and organized as a person. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.

Requirements

  • Relevant post-secondary education for the position, or other education plus experience that the employer deems equivalent
  • Driver's license class B, manual transmission
  • Previous work experience in logistics

Meritorious

  • Experience with the Armed Forces' accounting systems SAP/PRIO & LIFT
  • Knowledge of the Armed Forces' equipment
  • Documented experience as a purchaser within the FM
  • Completed military service
  • Good skills in Microsoft Office.
  • Good physical ability

Other: The Armed Forces apply a 6-month probationary period for those who are not already employed by the authority. The first years include a number of training sessions that take place weekly at another location. Shift work may also occur.

Information about the Armed Forces and the recruiting unit: In 2022, the Västernorrland Regiment with the Jämtland Field Ranger Corps, I 21, was re-established. A new regiment with centuries-old traditions in Västernorrland and Jämtland. With us, you have the opportunity to be part of something unique, the re-establishment of a regiment in Lower Norrland.

I 21 currently operates in Sollefteå, Östersund, and Härnösand and is responsible for the Lower Norrland Garrison. In Sollefteå, there is the Regimental Staff (with personnel in both Sollefteå and Östersund) and the Ångermanland Infantry Battalion. In Östersund, there is the Jämtland Field Ranger Corps. In addition, there is a Garrison Support Unit, Defense Health, and Logistics Unit with operations in Sollefteå, Östersund, and Härnösand.

At the Ångermanland Infantry Battalion and the Jämtland Field Ranger Corps, we train conscript soldiers for service in the new modern infantry under our proud motto “From mountains to sea, for the defense of Lower Norrland.”
