The Department of Oral Diagnostics and Surgery provides basic education in oral biomedicine, oral and maxillofacial surgery, oral radiology, and orofacial medicine. We are now seeking a lecturer in dental radiology for the Department of Dentistry. We are looking for a PhD dentist who can participate in the education of dental students, dental hygienist students, and KUT in dental radiology. We also educate at the specialist level and have a close collaboration with the specialist clinic at University Dental Care, where the clinical skills training is conducted. The department's research focuses on oral diagnostics, orofacial medicine, and surgery.
Your role
We are looking for someone with specialist training in dental radiology and a PhD dentist with experience in dental radiology. This is a permanent part-time position.
The position includes clinical work across the entire panorama of radiology. In addition to clinical work, it also includes conducting continuing education and consultation activities as well as clinically supervising our ST dentists. There are good opportunities to conduct research and development work, develop leadership skills, and collaborate both nationally and internationally.
Responsibilities
- Work at the specialist clinic and participate in the development of the operations
- Supervision of ST dentists in dental radiology
- Participation in the basic education for dentists, dental hygienists, and KUT in dental radiology and related subjects
- Independently lead and help develop round activities
- Drive research activities at various levels
- Participate in course activities at the continuing education level
Who are you?
Eligible for employment as a lecturer is one who has demonstrated pedagogical skill, has obtained a doctoral degree, or has equivalent scientific competence or other professional skills that are significant in relation to the subject matter of the employment and the tasks that will be included in the position.
In addition, you must have completed higher education pedagogical training of three weeks according to SUHF's recommendations for qualifying higher education pedagogical training. If such training is lacking at the time of employment, you must undergo such training within the first two years of employment.
Requirements:
- Specialist dentist in dental radiology with a license issued by the National Board of Health and Welfare
- PhD dentist
- Experience in teaching and supervising in dental radiology
- Research in oral radiology
- Fluent in Swedish and English, both spoken and written.
Meritorious:
- Experience in hospital-based dental radiology
- Participation in course activities at the continuing education level
- Good pedagogical ability and pedagogical education
We are looking for someone with high radiological competence to independently work at the specialist clinic. You have good pedagogical skills and an interest in participating in the development and improvement of the education conducted at the department. Research interest is valuable as we strive to develop and increase our research activities. Since the position includes several assignments, we work together for a rational working method with prioritization of tasks.
We are looking for a person who has the ability to see the whole and can focus their efforts based on the needs of the operations and to ensure that the subject group functions well. It is very important that you have a distinctly good ability to collaborate, demonstrate flexibility, initiative, and service awareness.
