Unit for Media and Democracy, Ministry of Culture

The Unit for Media and Democracy is responsible for issues within media and democratic policy. The area of responsibility includes, among other things, commercial media, media support, public service, and new media services – both nationally and within the EU. The unit also works with issues related to media and information literacy, elections and voter participation, as well as initiatives to protect democratic dialogue against threats and hate. If necessary, work in other areas for which the ministry is responsible may also become relevant.

In the role of administrator, you will work with current issues within the unit's area of responsibility. Your tasks will include contributing to the preparation of materials and drafts for proposals to the political leadership. You will also need to familiarize yourself with, analyze, and coordinate information and issues within the unit's or ministry's area of responsibility and have a supportive role in the unit's work.

You will work closely with colleagues within the unit and other parts of the Government Offices, as well as in dialogue with authorities and other stakeholders.

Your Background

We are looking for someone with a relevant university or college degree, preferably in social sciences, law, political science, or a related field. You have experience in administrative or investigative work within government administration. You also have a very good ability to express yourself verbally and in writing in both Swedish and English.

Experience working within the Government Offices is an advantage. It is also an advantage if you have worked with administrative tasks or issues related to any of the unit's areas of responsibility, as well as experience in investigating and analyzing complex issues and preparing materials. Good knowledge of media issues or related policy areas is also advantageous.

The position is a fixed-term employment for up to 9 months, starting by agreement but no later than February 2026.
