Crisis Coordination Center, Crisis Management Office | Prime Minister's Office

The Crisis Coordination Center is now seeking a global monitor for an operational role in the Government Offices' crisis management work.

Your Workday. Sweden's Tomorrow.

As a global monitor, you will follow events in and outside of Sweden to early detect situations that may require action from the government or the Government Offices. You will work closely with decision-making functions and contribute with ongoing situation reports and analyses in a rapidly changing environment.

Your tasks include:

  • Monitoring news flows and intelligence from open and internal sources
  • Conducting your own analyses and assessments
  • Alerting and informing relevant actors when something occurs
  • Compiling and presenting situation reports and other decision-making materials

The work is fast-paced and tasks can change quickly. The role is operational, with working hours according to a schedule – including recurring night and weekend shifts.

Your Background

Requirements:

  • Academic degree (bachelor's, master's, or equivalent) in fields such as political science, law, journalism, or economics
  • Current experience from work or internships in organizations within the Government Offices or other government agencies where the main mission relates to law, defense, security, crisis preparedness, or foreign and security policy
  • Good knowledge of how the Swedish public administration works
  • Very good skills in Swedish and English, both spoken and written
  • Swedish citizenship

Meritorious:

  • Experience of shift work or night work
  • Editorial work or experience in a staff or crisis management environment
  • Previous work with global monitoring or information management
  • Knowledge of Sweden's crisis preparedness and total defense
  • Language skills beyond Swedish and English, particularly in Russian, French, Arabic, or Mandarin

In this recruitment, we use work samples. Therefore, we ask that you, along with your CV and cover letter, attach a page with reflections on a current societal issue of your choice. It should be on an A4 page with a maximum of 600 words – otherwise, you decide the format.

We offer one or more permanent positions and fixed-term contracts with the possibility of extension. Work is scheduled with recurring night and weekend shifts.

The position is classified in a security class, and a security clearance with background check will be conducted before a hiring decision is made. You must be a Swedish citizen, but you may have a foreign background.
