Blekinge Air Wing Seeks Communicator for Wing Management

Do you want to help develop communication in a rapidly expanding part of the Swedish Armed Forces? Blekinge Air Wing is now looking for a skilled and driven communicator with a strong sense of visual communication. Our operations are growing quickly - in tasks, scope, and visibility - and therefore we need to strengthen our team. The position is based in Ronneby, and you will be a key person in the work to highlight the wing's role, both locally, nationally, and in an increasingly international context.

About the Unit

Blekinge Air Wing, F 17, is a growing operation within the Swedish Armed Forces responsible for combat aviation, base units, and support functions. We operate around the clock, year-round, to maintain and develop Swedish defense capabilities. The communication function at the wing consists of a small but dedicated team. As a communicator, you will be part of the wing management and report to the wing's communication chief.

Main Responsibilities

• Produce content in the form of texts, still images, and video material for the wing's and air force's internal and external channels.
• Support the wing commander and other leaders in communication efforts.
• Participate in planning, implementation, and evaluation of communication activities.
• The role also includes some media management.

Qualifications:

• Post-secondary education in communication, journalism, or equivalent as assessed by the employer.
• Excellent ability to express yourself verbally and in writing in Swedish, as well as the ability to tailor texts and posts to different target groups.
• At least 1 year of professional experience in communication work, such as a communicator, journalist, or editor.
• Good ability to independently drive tasks.
• Driver's license B (manual transmission).

Desirable Qualifications:

• Experience working within the Swedish Armed Forces or other public sector organizations.
• Good knowledge and professional experience in photography and filming.
• Good knowledge and professional experience with relevant programs such as Photoshop and Premiere Pro/Final Cut.
• Knowledge in working with digital channels.
• Good ability to express yourself verbally and in writing in English.

Personal Qualities

We are looking for someone with good judgment, who is unpretentious, collaborative, and confident in themselves. You are structured and can work independently. You must be able to handle periods of high workload and deadlines. You have high integrity and feel comfortable working closely with management and leaders. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.

Other Information

The position is civilian and permanent, with a probationary period applied. The place of employment is Ronneby. Security clearance with background check will be conducted prior to employment according to the security protection law. Swedish citizenship is a requirement.

Due to Christmas/New Year holidays, feedback will be provided after the turn of the year, in early 2026.
