RESPONSIBILITIES

Destination Karlskrona is to be the obvious engine in the work of further developing Karlskrona as an attractive place. Together with the business community, the company creates sustainable experiences and reasons to travel year-round, markets and positions the place, and enhances the quality of life for residents. The company will also contribute to a significant increase in the tourism economic turnover in the municipality, attract new investments, and entice more people to settle and work in Karlskrona.

Destination Karlskrona AB is a newly established wholly-owned municipal company responsible for developing and marketing Karlskrona as an attractive destination for residents and visitors. The company works with a broad portfolio of services within destination development and marketing.

The company's business areas include events and meetings, marketing and communication, partnerships and relationships, Cruise Karlskrona, visitor services, destination development, and the operation and development of activities at Drottningskärs Kastell.

Your main responsibilities as a visitor destination developer will be to develop and strengthen Drottningskärs Kastell as an attractive destination, focusing on cultural heritage, events, and experiences for a broad target group of visitors year-round. Drottningskärs Kastell is an important part of UNESCO's World Heritage - the Naval City of Karlskrona.

• Further develop the visitor experience at Drottningskärs Kastell with a new permanent exhibition, shop, and reception.
• Plan and develop events and experiences.
• Create attractive package solutions in collaboration with other stakeholders (organizers, restaurants, transport, accommodation).
• Work with marketing and communication to increase visibility.
• Ensure that development occurs in line with cultural heritage legislation and sustainability goals.
• Seek project funding and partners to create financing for development initiatives.
• Evaluate visitor statistics and trends to improve the offering and increase the number of visitors year-round.

Your tasks include:

• Develop and follow up action plans and budgets.
• Schedule planning and daily management of hourly employees and guides.
• Build good relationships with partners.
• Collaborate with other business areas in the company.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education in events, marketing, cultural heritage, or other experience and background deemed suitable by the employer.

Experience in planning, developing, and implementing public activities.
