Due to sick leave, we are looking for a part-time substitute for our teaching assistant.

You need to have good math skills to support students in mathematics.

About the position

As a teaching assistant, you will work with several classes in different grades, supporting teachers both in the classroom and outside with tasks such as interacting with students and being a reassuring presence, assisting with simpler administrative tasks, contacting parents, etc. The role may also include shared mentorship for a class alongside a teacher.

This position is a substitute for 50% until January 18, after which it may continue at 50% until summer or be reduced to 25% until summer depending on needs.

The days are scheduled for mornings 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM Monday to Friday.

The position requires you to be able to guide students in mathematics 1b, 2b, and possibly also 3b.

As a teaching assistant at Birger Jarls Gymnasium, you will be part of a tight-knit team of teachers in various subjects, and you are therefore expected to be cooperative and considerate towards your colleagues. Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has experience working as a teaching assistant, preferably at the high school level, but any experience working in a school is an advantage.

It is also an advantage if you have completed a teaching assistant training program.

You need to have knowledge of and interest in mathematics to support students in need of assistance in mathematics 1b, 2b, and possibly also 3b.

About the school:

Birger Jarls Gymnasium in Stockholm started in the autumn of 2018. The school has around 300 students.

The school offers two college preparatory programs:

- The Economics program with specializations in economics and law.

- The Social Sciences program with specializations in social science and behavior.
