Rosersberg Prison is located north of Stockholm and is a facility of security class 2. In addition to prison places, there are also several remand places for clients awaiting deportation from the country. The prison is also preparing to receive a number of clients under 18 years of age in 2026.

The Swedish Prison and Probation Service works to maintain a safe and secure environment while motivating clients towards a life without crime. Clients at Rosersberg Prison are engaged in education, treatment programs, and work within the wood industry – all aimed at creating structure, meaning, and conditions for a better future.

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Swedish Prison and Probation Service provides some open healthcare, which means that all prisons and remand facilities have medical clinics where inmates can seek care. As the prison prepares to receive clients under 18 years of age, it will also provide student health services for these clients. In addition to nurses and psychologists, there are also general practitioners and psychiatrists at the clinics.

As a nurse, you will have your own clinic for assessing minor ailments, and you will also evaluate which applicants should see a doctor. This means that you will work with both somatic and psychiatric healthcare for the inmates, assist during medical consultations, and administer medications primarily through dose dispensing. Documentation is done in the PMO patient data journal, but a new contracted journal system will be implemented at the beginning of 2026.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who is secure, stable, and has self-awareness. You find it easy to collaborate with others and have well-founded and clear values. In stressful situations, you remain calm, stable, and controlled. You have a high level of integrity and the ability to make correct assessments and priorities. You are quality-conscious and meticulous, and you have the ability to structure your approach and drive your processes forward.

To thrive and succeed in your role, it is important that you share the fundamental values of the Swedish Prison and Probation Service regarding a humane view of humanity, respect for the individual, and the belief that people can develop. You are also aware of and understand how background, culture, and group affiliation affect yourself and others. Furthermore, you are expected to contribute to ensuring that everyone is treated equally through your approach. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

We are looking for someone who:

• Is a licensed nurse.
• Has at least 3 years of work experience in the profession.
• Has good knowledge of the Swedish language in both speech and writing.

It is advantageous if you:

• Are a licensed district nurse.
• Have experience in student health services.
• Relevant language skills beyond Swedish.
