Administrator within Probation Service Northern Norrland

The Swedish Prison and Probation Service is growing – we are building new facilities, renovating, and expanding, and we are now looking for more employees. We are the authority responsible for prisons, probation, remand, and client transport.

The Probation Service Northern Norrland covers Västernorrland, Västerbotten, and Norrbotten counties and has staffed offices in Luleå, Gällivare, Umeå, and Sundsvall. The Probation Service conducts personal investigations and supervises clients who are conditionally released, under probation, sentenced to community service, or monitored with electronic ankle bracelets/intensive supervision. The Probation Service also works with various treatment programs, in Umeå and Sundsvall even on-site at nearby prisons. Approximately 180 employees and 10 managers work within the Northern Norrland probation service to reduce clients' recidivism and thereby increase community safety.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As an administrator within the Probation Service Northern Norrland, your main task is to support the management of the operational area in administrative tasks and, to some extent, in operational processes. You will work closely with the management team consisting of the prison chief, two deputy prison chiefs, HR support focused on HR and operational processes, and the nine probation inspectors (first-line managers) in the operational area. Together, you are all part of the management group and work together to fulfill your mission based on applicable legislation and to ensure that our employees have good conditions to both develop and thrive in the workplace. Your role includes administrative tasks such as record-keeping and archive management, taking minutes, managing permissions, bookings, and orders. The operational needs and directed assignments from the management of the operational area will influence the more detailed distribution of tasks within the area of responsibility.

We are looking for you who have:

• High school diploma or equivalent, preferably with an administrative or economic focus
• Relevant experience in administrative work (relevant experience means within the last 5 years)
• Good knowledge of the Swedish language in both speech and writing
• Good IT skills
• Driving license B

It is advantageous if you have:

• Post-secondary education in HR, economics, and/or administration or other focus that the Swedish Prison and Probation Service deems relevant for the position.
• Experience in record-keeping and archive management
• Knowledge of administrative law
• Experience in administrative work from public administration
• Experience working within the prison and probation service
