The Department of Children and Youth is responsible for Halmstad's municipal preschools, primary schools, adapted primary school, leisure centers, and cultural schools. Every day, approximately 16,000 children attend one of our operations.

Slottsjord's adapted primary school has about 90 students in grades 1-9 and is located in the central parts of Halmstad. At the school, we work closely in teams, with great commitment to developing our students towards their goals. We are a school that is constantly growing and spends a lot of time building common structures and content. Development of both the operation and ourselves is of great importance. We are now looking for you who want to be part of our continued journey and who contributes with joy at work.

Our leisure center aims to stimulate students' development and learning. We run leisure activities for students from grades 1-9; for older students, the leisure center is an initiative according to LSS, short-term supervision. The leisure center's opening hours are from 06:15 to 18:15. Students should be offered a meaningful time at leisure, and the teaching should be characterized by the students' participation and needs and promote their social and creative development.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The work involves planning, implementing, evaluating, and developing the teaching in the leisure center based on our governing documents and the goals of the operation, as well as work in class. We see that you take on a pedagogical responsibility that requires both inventiveness, creativity, and flexibility. You have high expectations for the students and see their abilities and possibilities. The assignment requires a good ability to analyze the students' needs and the ability to use a well-adapted methodology for the student and the group. We work a lot with visual support and alternative communication. You enjoy working in teams and find it easy to collaborate. The work requires cooperation with other colleagues at the school in a modest spirit. You should have a drive and a desire to work with continuous improvements in the operation.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for you who are a licensed teacher specializing in leisure centers. It is an advantage if you have previous experience working in leisure centers and preferably in adapted primary schools. If you also have knowledge and experience working with students with neuropsychiatric disabilities and intellectual disabilities, that is a merit.

You are a person who brings enthusiasm and joy to the work while being a clear and secure leader in your pedagogical assignment.

You do this by proving your citizenship in the EU/EES or Switzerland through a passport, national ID card, or personal certificate along with an identity document. If you cannot do this, you need to present a work permit or show that you are exempt from the obligation to obtain a work permit.

If you are offered employment within the Department of Children and Youth, you are obliged to present a clean extract from the Police Criminal Record for work within schools/preschools. The extract is free of charge and takes about 2-3 weeks for the police to process. Therefore, order it in good time!
