The Department of Children and Youth is responsible for Halmstad's municipal preschools, primary schools, adapted primary schools, after-school care, and cultural schools. Every day, approximately 16,000 children attend one of our facilities.

Slottsjordsskolan Söder is a primary school in Halmstad that welcomes students in grades F-3. We have a central location with a fantastic schoolyard and outdoor environment. The proximity to forest, sea, and beach contributes to a creative and joyful learning environment. At Slottsjordsskolan Söder, you will meet dedicated educators who work in collaboration with families towards the students' individual goals. We offer students a safe environment where we learn from and with each other. It is important to us that all students are challenged, thrive, and feel joy. The school currently has just over 200 students divided into two departments. Each department has a mixed-age after-school care for students in grades F-2, and the students in grade 3 are challenged and socialize at our after-school care for grade 3. We work in teams with teachers, school, and after-school care and develop teaching together in various forums.

Next to Slottsjordsskolan Söder is Slottsjordsskolan Skepparen. We are two different school units but with close cooperation.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

We are looking for you with the qualifications to teach as a preschool teacher or primary school teacher with qualifications to teach in the preschool class and look forward to inviting you to become part of our school's community. We are all each other's work environment at the school, and you must want to be part of a team. We are proud of our operations and the school's excellent results. We have present, engaged educators, and the school's relatively small size creates a familial atmosphere where it is easy to see each student. We know that high expectations and well-developed teaching affect students' achievement. The position involves collaboration and challenges, laughter, and well-being.

As the responsible teacher in one of the preschool classes, you will plan, implement, and evaluate teaching based on national goals and the school's local development plan. This requires collaboration with colleagues in a non-prestigious manner. In the assignment, a good ability to analyze students' needs for teaching and methods is required; based on results and identified needs, you create a framework for learning.

There is freedom to create an operation that benefits students' learning and well-being. We are all each other's work environment at the school, and you should want to be part of the school's team. The school's fantastic location by the beach, sea, and forest can influence your thoughts on learning environments and teaching. We want to offer high quality throughout the school day, and you will be part of the students' afternoon time since most students at our primary school choose to participate in the after-school care's teaching and care.

We are looking for you who want to collaborate; you will work to build bridges between both after-school care and grades 1-3. This can happen through engagement, responsiveness, and participation.

All educators in preschool classes are part of collaborative teams. You will be offered time for planning and follow-up work. Collegial learning is important, so time is allocated for this in the calendar. Slottsjordsskolan values having both a good work and development organization.

QUALIFICATIONS

Preschool teacher certification or teacher certification with qualifications to teach in preschool class.

Before employment occurs, you need to show that you have the right to work, which is required according to the Aliens Ordinance. You do this by proving your citizenship in the EU/EES or Switzerland through a passport, national ID card, or personal certificate along with an identity document. If you cannot do this, you need to present a work permit or show that you are exempt from the requirement for a work permit.

If you are offered employment within the Department of Children and Youth, you are required to present a clean extract from the Police's criminal record for work within schools/preschools. The extract is free of charge and takes about 2-3 weeks for the police to process. Therefore, order it in good time!
