About the role  As a support pedagogue, you will work alongside your colleagues in direct work with the users. In addition, it includes driving and applying Nytida's framework for pedagogy and contributing to the design of personalized pedagogy for the users. This is to support the users in utilizing their cognitive and social abilities, enhancing their self-esteem, and enabling a health-promoting life by acting as a role model and motivating them towards wellness. Together with other staff members, you will work towards making the day meaningful and enriching, performing care-related tasks, ensuring pleasant premises, and participating in activities with the users. You will also support colleagues in social documentation and implementation plans.  

The working hours are scheduled during the day, evenings, weekends, and on-call shifts.

About the unit

Vassmolösa is an LSS residence aimed at young people aged 13-18 years (or as long as the youth is in school) who have a diagnosis within the autism spectrum and/or intellectual disabilities.

We work individually tailored based on Nytida's framework for pedagogy (read more here (https://nytida.se/sa-jobbar-vi/nytidas-pedagogiska-ramverk/)) which is based on low-arousal responses, clarifying pedagogy, and alternative and augmentative communication (AAC). The working method is individually tailored to ensure that each young person has the best conditions for quality of life, participation, self-determination, and meaningfulness. With calmness, security, and structure, we provide support for the youth to utilize their strengths and embrace their interests.

We are a smaller team that works closely together, where collaboration among colleagues is the foundation.

We support the youth, step by step, towards becoming increasingly independent, as preparation for adult life. We base our implementation plan on the youth's needs, strengths, and interests. In all activities, we consider the youth's right to participation and independence based on their abilities.

The residence is located 23 kilometers south of Kalmar in a village called Kvarnlyckan. Here, there is close proximity to beautiful nature, walking trails, the sea, and swimming areas. The nearest bus stop is 2.3 kilometers from the residence, and it takes 30 minutes to Kalmar by public transport. A short drive will take you to various recreational activities available in the area, such as bowling, swimming pools, cinemas, skateparks, playgrounds, ice rinks, libraries, and more.

Your experience and knowledge You are a trained support pedagogue from a vocational college or have relevant higher education. You have good computer skills, experience in documentation, and strong knowledge of Swedish in both speech and writing. Additional requirements include experience working with the LSS target group. 

You have a B driver's license.

As a person, you have a positive outlook and a strong commitment to people. You are responsible, meticulous, and enjoy working in a team. You are happy to share your experiences and support colleagues in pedagogy, documentation, and interaction.
