About the role

We are looking for a skilled and experienced Data Engineer consultant to join our team.

We prefer that you have experience from previous roles where you have worked with various platforms and client assignments, and where you have designed, developed, implemented, and maintained data solutions based on business requirements. You have collaborated with cross-functional teams to ensure high data quality, integrity, and reliability throughout the data pipeline. You also have documented experience in developing and improving data pipelines, including orchestration, automation, implementation, and management, focusing on scalable and efficient data deliveries. As a person, you are curious, solution-oriented, and structured. You have the ability to translate complex data requirements into robust and scalable solutions that create value for the business. You enjoy building efficient data flows and technical structures that enable reliable and fast access to data.

Responsibilities

• Develop, code, and implement data solutions according to specifications.
• Maintain data sources, pipelines, and models.
• Develop controls for data quality in both source and target datasets.
• Develop and maintain ETL/ELT processes.
• Improve existing applications and platforms.
• Create project specifications and requirement documentation.
• Develop and maintain reports.
• Apply best practices and share them within the team.
• Stay updated on the latest trends and technologies in data engineering, and recommend best practices to enhance our data infrastructure.

Required skills

• University degree in a relevant field, such as computer science, information systems, data engineering, statistics, or equivalent.
• At least 5 years of experience as a data engineer or similar role.
• The candidate must be able to communicate fluently in Swedish and English, both verbally and in writing, in professional contexts.

Competencies

• Experience in implementing solutions and evaluating results.
• Strong programming skills in Python and similar languages.
• Solid experience with databases like SQL or similar.
• Strong experience in creating ETL/ELT processes.
• Strong knowledge in developing and orchestrating data pipelines, including automation, management, and optimization.
• Strong knowledge of modern tools and platforms such as Databricks, Docker, Delta Lake, Azure Data Factory, Hadoop, PySpark, Hive, or similar.
• Experience with visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Microsoft Access, SPSS Modeler, SAS, or similar.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure.
• Experience with data modeling and data warehouse solutions.
• Experience with agile development methodologies.
