The Gothenburg Primary School Administration is one of the largest school administrations in Sweden. We are responsible for the city's municipal schools from preschool class to grade nine, adapted primary school, culture school, and after-school care. The administration has 138 municipal primary schools where almost 47,000 students attend school every day. The entire administration has about 9,700 employees who collectively work to develop and take care of the operations - together we pave the way for the school of the future.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Since the summer of 2021, Skogomeskolan and Bärbyskolan belong to the same school area with a common principal.

Skogomeskolan is a newly built two-parallel F-6 school for 360 students that has been completed since the autumn term of 2019. The school has a profile focusing on the environment and sustainable development, which permeates the entire operation. Skogomeskolan has its own cultivation areas and is surrounded by beautiful nature. The school area has a consolidated student health team that works for both schools' students, and at each school, there are special support groups where students can receive additional support.

We are now looking for a leisure teacher who, together with other staff in collegial learning, will be responsible for ensuring that the education is varied, and that school environments are accessible and stimulating.

As a leisure teacher with us, you will be part of a working team together with both teachers and leisure educators/leaders. Here, you and your leisure colleagues will have primary responsibility for ensuring that our leisure activities are creative, enjoyable, and educational for the children. You will have the opportunity to support and stimulate learning and inspire our children to explore and acquire new interests. Based on governing documents, creativity, professionalism, and initiative, an exciting and challenging assignment is created, focusing on ensuring meaningful leisure time for the students.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who is a certified leisure teacher with the qualification to teach in leisure activities. If you have qualifications to teach in additional subjects, that is an advantage. Furthermore, it is advantageous if you have previous experience working as a leisure teacher. To ensure that you, as a recent graduate, get the best possible start in your career, you will be part of the Gothenburg Primary School Administration's Teacher Academy's introduction for newly graduated teachers. The introduction provides you as a recent graduate with a network with other recent graduates and targeted activities during your first year as a teacher.

You are well-versed in our governing documents and can implement them in practice. Since our educators work in teams, it is important that you are adaptable and have good collaboration skills. You are innovative and flexible and enjoy developing and being developed by a changing school.

We want you to be a secure person with a good approach both in your interactions with students and adults at school. You are well-versed in and share the values stated in the curriculum.

You use digital tools as a natural part of your teaching and create meaningful breaks for the students. In your teaching, you focus on creating inclusive learning environments to develop students and advance the leisure activities, thereby becoming a clear, secure, and inspiring leader.
