Your responsibilities

As a preschool teacher in the city of Västerås, you play a central role in leading and developing the pedagogical work together with your colleagues. You plan, implement, and follow up on the teaching based on the preschool curriculum and in close interaction with the children's interests, curiosity, and needs.

You have an exploratory and project-based working method where children's thoughts and ideas are allowed to take place and lead the way in learning. Together with the team, you drive the pedagogical development work and contribute to a preschool where reflection, collaboration, and quality are a natural part of everyday life.

Upon employment, you will be placed at one of our preschools. The placement may change in the future based on the needs of the operation.

Your qualifications

We are looking for you who are a licensed preschool teacher or who is about to finish your education and want to take the step into working life. You have a good understanding of the preschool's mission and are driven by the desire to create a safe and stimulating learning environment for every child.

You have a genuine interest in being part of developing the preschool's activities. You are motivated to contribute to an equitable preschool where all children are given the best conditions to develop and learn. Your language skills are important. You express yourself well in Swedish, both orally and in writing, and use the language as a conscious tool in teaching.

Recruitment process

In the city of Västerås, we have a central and shared recruitment process for preschool teachers. This means that we interview and fill our positions continuously based on the needs of the preschools. You will, of course, have the opportunity to express preferences for preschools or areas when you submit your application. If you proceed after any interview, you will have the opportunity to visit selected preschools based on current needs.

Additional information

Before you can be employed, you need to present an approved extract from the police criminal record.

In connection with employment, you need to verify your citizenship. You can do this with a passport or a certificate of citizenship along with an ID document. If you are not a citizen of Sweden, the EU, EEA, or Switzerland, you must present that you have a valid work permit or are exempt from the requirement to have a work permit.
