Ellevio is looking for a Selectivity and Control Equipment Engineer
Ellevio is one of Sweden's largest energy companies and thus an important enabler of the climate transition. By 2045, electricity consumption in Sweden is expected to more than double. This means that investments in our electricity grid are among the most important things we do. We are undertaking extensive investment projects to modernize, digitize, weatherproof, and expand the electricity grids, as well as create conditions for the connection of new fossil-free production. We believe in a bright and sustainable future, do you?
About the role of Selectivity and Control Equipment Engineer
As a Selectivity and Control Equipment Engineer, you will be part of the Analysis team within Network Development and will work across the entire Stockholm electricity grid, from 0.4kV up to 400kV. You will work independently while collaborating with many of your colleagues across several departments such as the Operations Center, Program & Project, Network Planning, Asset Owners, and Operational Technology (OT). Together with your team, you will be a key player in the development and digitization of the electricity grid going forward.
In the role of Selectivity Engineer, you will be an important part of an engaged team working with:
- Designing and analyzing selectivity plans for the electricity grid
- Ensuring that relay protection and control equipment have correct settings and functionality
- Providing technical support to investment and development projects as well as to the rest of the organization
- Conducting disturbance investigations related to protection functionality and participating in the major disturbance group
- Updating protection documentation and databases
- Contributing to process work for selectivity and improving technical instructions for control equipment
- Participating in FAT/SAT tests
The role also involves a broad network of contacts both internally within Ellevio and externally with consultants, contractors, and other stakeholders.
Who are you that we are looking for?
For the role of Selectivity Engineer, we see it as important that you are analytical and have a careful and systematic working method. You enjoy solving problems and have a good ability to drive tasks forward, even when you need to prioritize your work. Collaboration is a given for you, and you feel confident sharing your expertise and taking initiative in various forums.
To succeed in the role, we see that you have:
- A university degree in electrical power engineering or equivalent work experience
- Several years of experience with control systems, disturbance analysis, fault isolation principles, and secondary power systems
- Knowledge of standards such as IEC and IEEE, as well as experience with relay protection testing and commissioning is a big plus
- Experience with power quality and knowledge of communication protocols such as IEC61850, RTU, and SCADA is meritorious
