Do you have experience in nuclear power or radiation protection and want to contribute to a radiation-safe society?
Are you a communicative initiator who would thrive focusing on preparedness issues? Then you could be our future colleague!
Essential Tasks
The Swedish Radiation Safety Authority is a preparedness authority with important tasks within civil defense. Both our crisis and war organizations are being developed so that the authority can manage its tasks during heightened readiness and war, and therefore we are strengthening our team with investigators in radiation protection preparedness and civil defense.
As an investigator in radiation protection preparedness and civil defense, you will work in the unit for implementing preparedness to develop and manage the authority's crisis and war organizations. This means that you will participate in the authority's preparedness planning to create good conditions for the authority to operate, both in radiological emergencies and in other crises, as well as during heightened readiness and in war.
In your role, you will be responsible for one of the authority's duty functions, officer in reactor preparedness, which involves working with staffing, training, routines, and checklists related to the duty function. It is part of your responsibility to identify needs for development and improvements, as well as to collaborate, document, plan, and implement these. Additionally, you will plan and conduct training and exercises for both crisis and war organizations together with colleagues in the unit. This will involve different roles in different exercises; in one exercise you may be a local evaluator, in another a local exercise leader.
The position includes participating in continuity planning and developing processes and routines for crisis management during heightened readiness. You will be part of a group in the unit that works together on the development and management of crisis and war organizations, including training and exercises, equipment and materials, as well as command centers and technical communication systems. You will primarily collaborate internally, but external collaboration in various contexts may also occur.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone who has:
- A university degree related to nuclear power or radiation protection, or equivalent experience deemed relevant by the authority
- Experience working at a nuclear power plant or another nuclear facility
- Understanding of how the duty engineer at a nuclear power plant or similar function at another nuclear facility operates
- Good knowledge of Swedish and English in both written and spoken form
- Driving license B
It is meritorious if you have:
- Experience in training and exercise activities
- Knowledge of crisis management and staff work
- Knowledge of the Swedish crisis preparedness system
- Understanding of radiation protection
- Project management experience
Personal Qualities
To succeed in this role, you are communicative, clear, initiative-taking, and solution-oriented. Since you will collaborate both internally and externally, we see that you are relationship-building and have a high ability to cooperate and work in a structured manner.
We expect you to have a high level of security awareness and that you can work according to both our values - Swedish Radiation Safety Authority (stralsakerhetsmyndigheten.se) and the State's value base (forvaltningskultur.se).
