Do you want to help shape the future of education at IES Johanneberg?
We are now looking for a craft teacher for grades 4-9 with a Swedish teaching license. Here at IES Johanneberg, you will be part of an international and safe learning environment where all students are at the center and receive the best conditions for their lifelong learning.
About us
Internationella Engelska Skolan has positively impacted its students' development for over 30 years. We believe that this successful outcome comes from our strong ethos, where engaged and present leaders create an environment where everyone strives toward common goals. With us, teachers focus on what matters most – teaching and learning. Students are always at the center, and all students are your students. We believe in values as the foundation for success, and collaboration is a natural part of our way of working.
N.B. Before any job offer at IES, a criminal background check is required for all applicants. In Sweden, this is an extract from the criminal record from the Police Authority and from abroad, this is a record extract from an equivalent police governing body.
What does the position entail?
The position is a permanent full-time employment starting in January 2026. As part of our dedicated teaching team and subject group, you will work closely with your colleagues in Swedish to truly make a difference in students' development. Our strong belief in students' potential permeates our teaching, and together with your colleagues, you will create a safe, structured, and developing learning environment where students are given the opportunity to be both challenged and stimulated.
In this role, you will work closely with both teaching colleagues and support teachers in a close collaboration, where our common mission is to lead and support students in their social and academic development. You will also be responsible for mentoring a class, which gives you the opportunity to build long-term relationships and contribute to a positive school day.
Who are we looking for?
We are looking for someone with a teaching degree in craft and a Swedish teaching license. You are an educator with good insight and the ability to translate the curriculum's goals into your daily work. You are flexible, structured, and well-prepared, with a clear leadership style that allows you to stand strong in your student groups and create a positive learning environment.
For us, collaboration is a key factor for success, and we are therefore looking for someone who sees the importance of collegial learning, clear routines, and common approaches. You are also an educator who is curious and innovative – as we welcome students in grades 4 and 5 for the 26/27 school year and shape the future learning environment together.
You are open, communicate in a straightforward and humble manner, and build trusting relationships with students, guardians, and colleagues. Since the teaching in craft is conducted in Swedish, but we speak both Swedish and English among colleagues, you need to be fluent in both languages in speech and writing.
Why IES Johanneberg?
- An international and positive work climate where collaboration and development are central.
- The opportunity to help shape an exciting new phase in the school's history.
- A safe, structured, and developing learning environment for both students and educators.
- A dedicated and supportive team where you can contribute to students' lifelong learning.
Welcome with your application!
