Project Manager for Nära Mat

Sweden has decided on a national food strategy that extends to 2030.

The regional work is implemented through Norrbotten's food strategy; Nära Mat. The coordination assignment for Nära Mat is carried out by the County Administrative Board of Norrbotten, in close collaboration with regional actors in the county.

The goals for Nära Mat include strengthening competitiveness and preparedness in the food sector and contributing to a circular economy and a sustainable transition of society. A central part of achieving these goals is to enhance research and innovations that take into account the conditions in northern Sweden. Therefore, we are now ramping up the work in Nära Mat by recruiting a project manager who focuses on collaboration in the areas of research, innovation, and new projects.

The position is located in the Rural Development Unit, which consists of about 20 people. The unit contributes to the development of rural areas in the county, involving both strategic work and the management of various support and compensation for different forms of development. The government, the Swedish Board of Agriculture, and other central authorities are our clients.

About the job

As a project manager, your primary task is to promote relevant issues for Nära Mat in the area of research and innovation. You will also manage projects driven within the framework of Nära Mat. More specifically, you will:

• Conduct simpler procurements and follow up on budgets and activities in the projects you are responsible for
• Continuously monitor the food sector together with the coordinator for Nära Mat
• Participate in various research initiatives
• Participate in planning and follow-up of the work with the regional food strategy
• Participate in the work with food preparedness in Norrbotten.

Travel is required for the job, both longer trips and within the county.

The work is constantly evolving, and based on our assignment, the tasks may change over time. Therefore, you need to be able to handle changes. At the same time, this gives you opportunities to develop and both broaden and deepen your competence with us.

About you

We are looking for someone who has:

• Relevant higher education, for example in agricultural sciences or food sciences, or experience that we assess as equivalent.
• Experience in project management and strategic work
• Good knowledge of the conditions and challenges in the food sector
• Good social skills and the ability to build networks
• The ability to communicate simply and understandably in Swedish and English, both orally and in writing
• Very good computer skills and good knowledge of Microsoft 365
• A valid driver's license for passenger cars

As a person, you find it easy to collaborate, are meticulous and structured, and have the ability to work goal-oriented and meet deadlines. You are driven, solution-oriented, and contribute to developing the operations and work routines.

It is an advantage if you have:

• Completed a doctoral degree or otherwise have experience working with research
• Experience in governmental work and are familiar with state administration or other public activities

Good to know

We use a six-month probationary period.

If you are called for an interview, you may be required to complete a work sample.
