Do you want to make a real difference in the lives of young people and families? We offer support and treatment to young people and their families in demanding and sometimes very difficult life situations.

The workgroup consists of seven family therapists with a strong commitment and a broad competence in qualified psychosocial treatment work. We collaborate and continuously develop together with other workgroups, team leaders, and through supervision. Open care for youth belongs to the Department of Individual and Family Services. We are located in bright premises at Sigurdsgatan 21 A-D, next to the social services building, the train station, and with a view over Lake Mälaren.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

An important part of the work with young people and their parents is to build trust. This is a prerequisite for working together to improve relationships and communication patterns in the family. You will meet families who have sought help themselves or have become relevant through reports of concern to social services. The youth often face difficulties in several areas of life such as school, leisure, family relationships, and their own acting-out behavior. The youth are often close to placement, have been or will be placed during the treatment period. We often continue to work with both the youth and parents during the placement period. In the treatment work, you will work in a team with other family therapists, youth therapists, and treatment leaders. We collaborate closely with social workers and other actors such as schools, child and adolescent psychiatry (BUP), and field social workers.

To be available for our families in urgent need of support, we take turns in the workgroup to be on call at home. You will primarily work during the day, but you have a flexible work agreement and may sometimes need to offer families conversations after office hours.

QUALIFICATIONS

You have a genuine interest in relational social work and have previously worked with young people with norm-breaking behavior. It comes naturally to you to build alliances with young people and their families to influence development in a positive direction. You have a degree in social work or another academic degree in a relevant field, such as behavioral science.

You are confident in yourself and your professional role, and you can make independent assessments while knowing when to seek help. Resilience is one of your strengths in the job; you manage to keep motivation up even in setbacks and find new ways forward. You have a good ability to understand people in vulnerable situations and adapt your message to the recipient. It is a plus if you have previously worked with children and young people within social services or have training in relevant methods within systemic family work, psychotherapy CBT/relational, or skills training. You have good knowledge of Swedish in both spoken and written form; we would also like you to speak additional languages.

The position involves home visits and visits to partners, so a B driver's license is required. Before you can be employed, you need to present an approved extract from the police criminal record.

Please feel free to reach out if you have questions regarding the position or the recruitment process. We warmly welcome your application!
