Dedicated School Counselor Wanted

We are currently seeking a dedicated school counselor for our adapted primary schools at Nybyggeskolan, Önstaskolan, and Viksängsskolan. The adapted primary school is designed to meet the needs of students with intellectual disabilities and is a distinct school form with its own curriculum and course plans. The education spans nine years, and each student has an individual study plan.

RESPONSIBILITIES

As a school counselor, your daily routine will be filled with a variety of tasks, all with a common goal: to promote students' well-being and success. In your work, you will support students through guiding conversations, sometimes with their parents present. With us, you strive to highlight the students' specific strengths and interests, and you also guide the school staff to do the same.

You will be part of the schools' student health team. Together, you will work on various student cases, which may include investigation assignments, collaboration on preventive measures, health-promoting initiatives, and value-based work to ensure an optimal learning environment and safety for each student.

Every day, you meet students with different needs and challenges. Your goal is to be a safe and supportive resource that helps students reach their full potential. By listening, supporting, and guiding, you work to create an environment where students feel seen, heard, and respected.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone with an education as a social worker, behavioral scientist, or another suitable academic degree. You have experience working with children/youth with autism or intellectual disabilities and a commitment to working preventively and promotively at the organizational, group, and individual levels.

If you possess knowledge of languages other than Swedish, we consider it an asset, as well as if you have knowledge of solution-focused approaches or other support functions in society.

Before you can be employed, you need to present a valid extract from the police criminal record.
