The main operator of Ekgården preschool is Academica Preschools. Safety, well-being, joy, and quality are key words for us at Ekgården preschool. Here we have fun and learn a lot at the same time! With us, there are children aged one to six years divided into two departments: Lille Skutt/Bamse and Skalman. The preschool has been part of Stockholm City's childcare since October 2008.

Ekgården preschool is a safe, fun, and educational preschool. Here, you can experience a lot of exciting things and get inspiration for both play and learning. One of our most important responsibilities is to ensure the child's best interests, that they feel safe, and develop socially and academically.

Our governing documents: UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, Curriculum for Preschool, Lpfö 18, revised 2025, Education Act, Preschool Program for the City of Stockholm, Action Plan against Discrimination and Harassment in Preschool, the Swedish National Agency for Education's general advice “Goal fulfillment in preschool” (revised 2017), Guidelines for independent preschools in the City of Stockholm.

We work inspired by Reggio Emilia. We have engaged educators who meet each child's needs for development and teaching. Ekgården preschool is a multicultural preschool, with children and staff representing many different nationalities. We see multiculturalism as an asset. We work on various projects where children's interests, questions, and needs guide the direction of the project.

About you

We have an open position at Ekgården preschool and need a qualified childcare worker for our child groups as soon as possible.

Good knowledge of the Swedish language in both speech and writing is required. We will place great emphasis on personal qualities.

You have knowledge and an idea of how you, together with your colleagues, will realize the goals and values of the curriculum. Your focus on children is clear and reflected in your approach in everyday life. You also have knowledge of how to visualize and further develop children's learning processes with the help of pedagogical documentation. You have a strong drive to keep the development of the educational environment alive.

In your professional role, you are engaged, professional, and proactive. You are also responsible and structured, with a good ability to plan and prioritize your work effectively. Your ability to collaborate is very good, and you are accommodating in your interactions with children, guardians, and colleagues. You handle conflicts in a sensitive and constructive manner. Furthermore, you have a good ability to communicate in both speech and writing. You enjoy leading and motivating others and sharing your experiences and knowledge.

The goal is to provide children with a safe and secure environment where they can develop at their own pace, have fun with their friends, and express their thoughts.

We are looking for an ambitious, pedagogical, kind, and stress-resistant person. Since we focus on language, vocabulary, and comprehension, good knowledge of the Swedish language is a priority for us. It is also important that you have basic computer skills in Microsoft and Office programs as well as image handling.
