We are now looking for a certified teacher in chemistry/biology for Karlbergsskolan in Köping.

Karlbergsskolan is a grades 7-9 school built in 1905. It is a beautiful old school located by Karlbergsskogen. There are good connections as the school is near the center and the train station in Köping. There are about 400 students at the school, and we have a music profile for about 25 students per grade. The staff is dedicated, and there is a strong sense of community at the school. We are organized into grade teams and also have regular meetings in subject teams. The student health team works to provide good support for students and teachers, and its strength lies in the various professions that complement each other. We strive to develop our preventive and health-promoting work.

Students have access to an iPad, and there is an IT educator at the school who is very helpful and available to the staff.

Responsibilities

You will work as a teacher in chemistry and biology as well as a contact teacher. By leveraging students' interests, you make the teaching exciting, and in your interactions with students, you constantly develop yourself and your role as a teacher. You will work both theoretically and practically. An important part of your job is to document students' learning, which will help them achieve their knowledge goals. We use the school system UNIKUM. In addition to pedagogical work, you will build relationships and collaborate with teaching staff, the student health team, and guardians.

Together with the math/natural science subject team, you will help develop your workplace through ideas and improvement suggestions.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who is a certified teacher in chemistry and biology or natural sciences for grades 7-9. Students' learning is your focus, and you work to ensure that all students reach their full potential.

You are a clear leader and can create good relationships with students, guardians, and colleagues.
Your pedagogical leadership also means that you have structure in your work, are communicative in speech and writing, and have digital competence.
You have the ability to translate the curriculum and other governing documents into your work.
You vary your teaching and capture students' interests.
You work with core values.
