Do you want a challenging and rewarding job in a homely environment? We are now looking for a support educator for a full-time position at two group homes: Tråddragargatan and Rönnbergastigen in Västerås.
About the role As a support educator, you work together with your colleagues in the direct work with the users. Additionally, you will drive and apply Nytida's framework for pedagogy and contribute to the design of personal pedagogy for the users. This is to support the users in utilizing their cognitive and social abilities, strengthen their self-esteem, and enable a health-promoting life by acting as a role model and motivating them towards wellness. Together with other employees, you work towards making the day meaningful and rich in content, performing care-related work, ensuring pleasant premises, and participating in activities with the users. You will also guide and support employees in social documentation and implementation plans, mentor new hires, and collaborate with the operations manager in development projects, such as in our activity group. You report to the operations manager. Becoming a manager can also be a future career opportunity for you. The working hours are scheduled during the day, evenings, weekends, and sleeping on-call shifts.
About the unit Tråddragargatan is an LSS residence where adult women with intellectual disabilities and certain diagnoses within the autism spectrum live. All residences have a daily activity that they attend on weekdays. The residence is located in Skiljebo, just behind Tomaskyrkan, in a quiet area, close to public transport, making it easy to get there. There are 6 women living in the residence. Rönnbergastigen is a group home located in Klockartorpet, also close to public transport. There are 4 residents, and currently, there is one vacant apartment. Some residents have a greater need for care, and it is an advantage if you are experienced in using a lift for transfers.
Your experience and knowledge You are a trained support educator from a vocational college or have relevant university education (at least 60 credits in pedagogy). You have good computer skills, experience in documentation, and good knowledge of Swedish in both spoken and written forms. Additional requirements include experience working with the LSS target group.
As a person, you have a positive outlook and a strong commitment to people. You are responsible, meticulous, and enjoy working in a team. You are happy to share your experiences and support colleagues in pedagogy, documentation, and interaction.
