Finance Department

The Finance Department, with its twelve employees, has a core mission to support the municipality's politicians, managers, and employees so that they can deliver welfare to our residents. We are looking for someone who wants to make a difference and be part of the Finance Department within Oskarshamn municipality.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Oskarshamn municipality is looking for an economist, preferably with an accounting/finance background, to join the Finance Department.

In the role of economist, you will work with the municipality's accounting/follow-up processes as well as within the municipality's financial areas. The role involves independent work, including VAT management/VAT reporting, handling loans for both the municipality and support for the municipality's wholly and partially owned companies, as well as performing liquidity forecasts in the municipality's liquidity tool. Work with interim and annual financial statements, accounting summaries, etc., is carried out together with colleagues in the municipality.

Work in the financial system requires an understanding of reports, postings, etc., and thus requires knowledge in finance, and it is important to have experience with large systems. The Finance Department works with the financial system Raindance.

You are expected to have good analytical skills to identify areas for improvement in line with the Finance Department's work to enhance and develop financial processes and routines.

The position is located in the Finance Department, and the immediate supervisor is the Chief Financial Officer.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who wants to be part of our development journey forward and, through a quality-conscious approach, perform your tasks in a judicious and self-sufficient manner. You are meticulous and possess good collaboration skills, as well as being able to clearly convey your message based on the recipient's conditions. As a person, you are attentive and communicative.

We see that you have post-secondary education in finance. You can communicate well in Swedish, both spoken and written.

It is an advantage if you have:

• experience from larger financial systems such as Raindance
• experience in liquidity forecasting
• experience in public sector operations

The employment is permanent but may begin with a six-month probationary period.
