Are you a physiotherapist with a heart for elderly care?

We are looking for someone who wants to make a real difference. We are now exploring the possibility of hiring our own physiotherapists and occupational therapists for three of our nursing homes, and we want to know if you are interested!

About the role

We are reviewing how we organize rehabilitation work in our nursing homes, with the goal of hiring our own physiotherapists and occupational therapists. We want to create even better opportunities for a continuous, present, and coordinated working method to support both residents and staff.

You will be based in three nursing homes within Vardaga and be an important part of the team around our care recipients. Here, you will find colleagues with great commitment and experience – who look forward to working with you to create a safe and active daily life for our residents. In the role of occupational therapist and physiotherapist, you will work with the residents to find the best ways to utilize their own abilities in daily life. You will support and motivate individuals to develop and maintain their physical, cognitive, and social abilities. Often this means that you:

  • make assessments and adapt the everyday environment.
  • test and prescribe physical and cognitive aids.
  • will mentor your colleagues in rehabilitative efforts, approaches, transfer techniques, etc.
  • maintain contact with the residents' relatives

About the units in Västerås

You will work closely at three different homes in Västerås, with both dementia and somatic focus:

  • Pilfinksgården – located centrally in the Råby district, focused on individuals with dementia. Here we offer individually tailored care with heart, integrity, and choice.
  • Granen – a somatic nursing home with 36 places spread over three floors. The home is beautifully situated in Råby, close to forests and green areas.
  • Tujagården – a somatic nursing home with 36 places, located in Skiljebo. The home is surrounded by forests and nice walking paths, creating a calm and pleasant environment for both residents and staff.

    Your experience and knowledge

    We believe that you who are applying to us:

    • are attracted to a job that is varied and requires extensive knowledge of care and support
    • greatly enjoy meeting people in different situations
    • are independent, can make your own assessments and decisions, and dare to think for yourself
    • have a pedagogical approach and enjoy working in a team while supporting colleagues.

    You are a licensed occupational therapist or physiotherapist, and we would like you to have a few years of experience in elderly care. You have good computer skills and experience with documentation. Good knowledge of the Swedish language in both spoken and written form is a requirement.
