Junior Doctor Wanted for the Planned Operations Unit in Sala

We are looking for a driven and committed junior doctor for the Planned Operations Unit Sala, EPOS. The Orthopedic Clinic of Region Västmanland's high-productivity hip and knee prosthesis unit. At EPOS, all staff are employed by the unit, from anesthesiologists to sterilization technicians. This creates an efficient care chain similar to that of private providers, but with the advantage that we can offer most patients, even those who are sicker, a hip or knee prosthesis operation. There are good opportunities to quickly step into the role of doctor with support from experienced colleagues and to work as a physician with ward duties and orthopedic surgery. The position is beneficial for future AT/BT applications.

Job Responsibilities

As a junior doctor within our planned operations, you will be part of a multidisciplinary team and a key person who develops and drives the operations together with your colleagues. As a junior doctor at EPOS, ward work is combined with assisting in surgery.

About the Workplace

The Planned Operations Unit in Sala is part of the Orthopedic Clinic with orthopedic inpatient care for hip and knee prosthetics. By gathering the entire care chain and all competencies within the same unit in dedicated premises, we increase productivity, reduce hospital stay, and create higher quality for both patients, employees, and the region as a healthcare provider. The goal is to create efficient flows and functioning teams to evaluate and achieve efficiency while securing production, where all staff are employed by the Orthopedic Clinic. Our new unit in Sala consists of outpatient clinics, wards, operating rooms, postoperative wards, and a sterilization center. The Planned Operations Unit in Sala opened on April 15, 2024, with its own high-production rooms where the entire care chain from first visit to completed care contact is included.

• Become Sweden's leading prosthesis center for hip and knee prosthetics, from simple primary to complex revisions.

Qualifications

To be considered for the position, you must have a medical degree and be interested in orthopedics. You are a person who can take initiative and create participation. Good collaboration and humility are a given for you. You are solution-focused and enjoy sharing your knowledge, as well as having the ability to prioritize and handle a fast-paced environment. You have a good command of the Swedish language in both speech and writing.
