Job Responsibilities

The work as a psychologist primarily consists of treatment, assessment, and investigative work, both independently and in collaboration with other professional categories. Cooperation with the Social Insurance Agency, the Employment Agency, and the municipality is an important aspect of the job. As a psychologist with us, we hope you will participate in the clinic's operational development.

About the Workplace

The geographical catchment area of the Adult Psychiatric Clinic Väster includes the western districts of Västerås as well as Hallstahammar and Surahammar. The target group for the clinic's work is individuals with psychotic disorders and extensive neuropsychiatric disabilities.

At the clinic, doctors, nurses, psychologists, social workers, occupational therapists, and secretaries work together, totaling 17 employees. We are a friendly workgroup with a variety of staff, both new and those who are more experienced and are happy to share their knowledge. At the clinic, we work in teams and strive to provide our patients with prompt and good care with high quality and professional treatment.

Qualifications

We are looking for a licensed psychologist with experience in psychiatric work. Experience in investigative work is highly meritorious for the position, especially in autism assessments. Since the work is based on conversation, collaboration, and documentation, good knowledge of Swedish is required to communicate professionally and clearly with both patients and colleagues.

As a person, you are attentive and have a good ability to understand others' situations. You have a respectful and good attitude towards both patients and colleagues. You listen, communicate, and resolve conflicts constructively. To thrive in the job, you need to be self-reliant with good judgment and empathetic ability.

New as a Psychologist?

For newly licensed psychologists, we offer a two-year competency package to provide you with a smoother transition between the role of a PTP psychologist and a licensed psychologist.

The competency package includes:

• Clinic-specific course
• Participation in a national/nordic congress
• Observation in primary care, habilitation, child and adolescent psychiatry, adult psychiatry, or forensic psychiatry (a total of five days)
• Opportunity to take a supervisor training in year 2
• Personal follow-up by an experienced psychologist

Employment Conditions

Permanent, full-time, daytime.

Start date by agreement.
