Job Responsibilities

As a nurse with us, you will work in a varied role that combines clinical sharpness with human presence. The work takes place both at the Emergency Care Unit and Urgent Care, providing a dynamic workday with both high tempo and more stable care situations.

• At Urgent Care, you meet the patient early in the care process. You triage, sort, assess, take samples, stabilize, and make initial decisions together with doctors.
• At the Emergency Care Unit, patients with acute conditions such as heart attacks, strokes, sepsis, and intoxications are cared for. It is a more ward-like work with a high level of monitoring and advanced medical technology such as CPAP, OptiFlow, and bilevel.

You work in a multi-professional team where your role is central. Variation in tasks and pace allows you to develop both medically and in your professional judgment.

About the Workplace

We are a unit with two distinct parts – the Emergency Care Unit and Urgent Care – but with a common mission: to provide safe and skilled care to the residents of Västmanland who need us.

• The Emergency Care Unit has 9 beds (with the possibility of overflow) and is also responsible for emergency tasks within the hospital at night. The average length of stay is about 2–4 days.
• Urgent Care is an adult medical clinic open day and evening, every day of the year. Patients of all ages come here with all types of complaints - but with a focus on adults. Patients are assessed and referred to the appropriate level of care when needed.

We are small enough for you to see the whole picture, but large enough to offer breadth and development. We work closely with other units in the care chain and have a strong culture of collaboration, responsibility, and patient focus.

From the start, you will receive a tailored introduction with guidance and a secure start in one unit at a time. We believe that security is the foundation for development – therefore, you will grow at your own pace.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a licensed nurse – or close to graduation – with a genuine interest in emergency care. Experience or further education in emergency care, cardiology, or MIMA is advantageous. But the most important thing is that you want to be part of it.

You need to be able to make your own decisions and be secure in your professional role – but also enjoy being in a team where collaboration and trust are central. You need to be flexible in thought, quick in action, and still have the ability to pause – and meet people in vulnerable situations with warmth and respect. We work in life's difficult events. It requires more than competence – it requires humanity.

Employment Conditions

Permanent employment 100%. Day/evening/night and 2 weekends out of 5. We offer various working models such as three-shift, shift work, and weekend work. Start date according to agreement.
