Do you want a central role for our patients and their relatives in a constantly evolving care environment? Where you have the opportunity to create continuity, participation, and security throughout the care journey. We offer a good working environment where we support each other and take joint responsibility for our patients. Cancer care is constantly evolving, and we see learning and development as a natural part of everyday life. We value your professional development and provide you with excellent opportunities to grow in your role.

Job Responsibilities
In the day care department, cancer treatment is provided to patients, where you as a nurse support both patients and relatives throughout the treatment period. Since care contacts vary, it is important to create a safe and continuous care environment. You plan your own schedule and work in a team with other professionals.

The work involves advanced nursing and medical technical tasks, planned treatments, and follow-up of effects and side effects. You are responsible for information about medications, telephone counseling, and administration of cytostatics and other antitumor drugs.

As a nurse, you build a safe and supportive relationship with the patient to create continuity and participation in the care contact. An important part of the care process is to ensure information transfer and strengthen the patient's self-care. Cancer care is constantly evolving, with new treatment methods and medications for various tumor diseases being introduced, leading to increasingly curative treatments. Development is therefore a natural part of daily work to enhance our operations. Currently, two major development projects are underway. We have implemented and developed Cytodos, a program for ordering, manufacturing, and administering, among other things, cytostatics. We are also undergoing a significant transformation with the shift to Close Care, where the aim is for the patient to receive treatment in their home community.

About the Workplace
At the Oncology Clinic's day care department, you will be part of a team consisting of nurses, nursing assistants, and doctors. Your colleagues form a stable core with many years of experience in their respective professions. You will work in a learning environment characterized by a pleasant work climate and freedom with responsibility.

We also have a PICC clinic, where some of our nurses are trained to insert certain central venous accesses. The PICC clinic primarily serves the Oncology Clinic's patients, but we also accept patients from other clinics and hospitals in the region. The clinical trial unit, which focuses on studies based on medications and enables patient participation in their treatment, is also part of the day care department.

We belong to the Oncology Clinic in Västerås and consist of a reception, radiation therapy department, inpatient department (department 80), day care department, and rehabilitation unit for cancer rehabilitation. About 130 employees work at the clinic. Our care is based on a holistic view of the individual and takes into account physical, psychological, social, and existential factors to tailor it to each patient.

For us, it is important that you feel good and enjoy your job, which is why we offer you

  • a tailored introduction program to help you feel secure and confident in your role
  • opportunities for professional development through internal training
  • a workplace for all stages of life
  • free training at our fully equipped gym
