Responsibilities

As a nurse on ward 80, you make a difference and create value every day for both patients and relatives. Here, patients with different care needs are treated at various stages depending on where they are in their cancer journey. You will have varied tasks with a breadth between acute oncology and palliative care.

On ward 80, we work in teams divided by care load, which means that the number of patients you are responsible for as a nurse may vary. On our ward, care and treatments are tailored to each individual, and in addition to medical interventions, we do everything we can to contribute to what makes a difference during the care period. We take our time, are present, listen, and converse with both patients and relatives.

The team you will work with consists of a cheerful group of various professional categories with many years of expertise. For a long time, we have had a daily routine with a well-functioning systematic work environment effort, which we are very proud of. About the workplace

The Oncology Clinic is a regional clinic with operations in Västerås. In addition to the inpatient ward, the clinic consists of a modern radiation therapy department, radiophysics, rehabilitation unit, outpatient clinic, day care unit for medical cancer treatments, and piccline reception. The units collaborate closely, and you have the opportunity to shadow in the different units to gain an understanding of the whole.

Care at the Oncology Clinic is based on seeing the whole person and taking into account physical, psychological, social, and existential factors, which means close contact with both patients and relatives. Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a licensed nurse, newly graduated or experienced in the profession. We see that you have good knowledge of Swedish in both speech and writing, and preferably knowledge of other languages.

As a person, you are secure and stable. You care for patients in difficult situations and therefore find it easy to understand others' perspectives without taking over the person's feelings. When stressful situations arise, you remain calm and controlled. You are helpful and accommodating in your approach and have a good ability to adapt to new circumstances and changes in pace that arise in the work. Furthermore, you have a good ability to structure your work and can work both independently and in collaboration with others.

Employment conditions

This is a permanent position on a day/evening schedule, as well as weekends, with the possibility of rotation to night shifts if interested.

Start date by agreement.
