Do you want a meaningful job as a nurse with a focus on the whole person?
We are undergoing a development of our operations and are looking for a nurse to join us in the Palliative department, Primary Care East. We warmly welcome your application!
Job Responsibilities
As a nurse with us, you will be welcomed to a pleasant workplace and a team that looks forward to having you as a colleague. The work is based on the four cornerstones of palliative care – symptom control, teamwork, relationship/communication, and support for relatives to alleviate physical, psychological, social, and existential suffering. This means a strong focus on mutual interpersonal relationships primarily with the patient but also with their relatives.
You will work in a team together with nursing assistants and perform medical technical procedures as well as care. You and the team around the patient contribute to individually tailored care and consider the whole person in symptom relief. As the organization is undergoing a transition to close and person-centered care, participation in development work is also important.
About the Workplace
Primary Care East consists of several units in Västerås and Sala. The clinic is part of the transition to Close Care in Västmanland and is entering an exciting time of development.
In Västerås, in addition to the Palliative department, there is also a Palliative reception for patients in need of specialized palliative care, as well as an AH team (advanced home care), Palliative Advisory Team, which provides support to operations within general palliative care, Primary Care teams, and a Primary Care department (NÄVA). In Sala, there is a Primary Care department – Department 1, AH team, Medical reception, Rehabilitation unit, and Primary Care team.
As an employee with us, you are a significant and important part of the team consisting of doctors, nurses, nursing assistants, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, dietitians, and social workers. We work together to offer specialized palliative care that is at the forefront. When you start, you will receive an individualized introduction until you feel confident in working more independently.
For us, it is important that you feel good and enjoy your job, therefore we offer you:
- an adapted introduction program to help you feel secure and confident in your professional role
- a meaningful and stimulating job with a strong focus on patients and their relatives
- a positive organization in development where we care for each other and our patients
- a team-focused work environment
- deepening and knowledge exchange within the organization and in various parts of palliative care
- supervision once a month

Qualifications
We are looking for you who are a licensed nurse and have experience in the profession. It is important to us that you have as strong an interest in palliative care as we do. You will receive a good introduction so that you feel secure in your role.
As a person, you are empathetic, secure in your professional role, and have the ability to make your own decisions in your work. This is a job for you who thrive in collaboration with others and who want a meaningful job close to patients and their relatives. You have the ability to adapt to the person you are caring for and their relatives. When situations and circumstances change, you are flexible and adaptable in your approach. Since patient-centered work requires good communication, it is important that you can express yourself well in Swedish, both orally and in writing.
