The Procurement and Purchasing Administration leads the strategic purchasing work of the City of Gothenburg. Our mission is to ensure that the city's purchases are efficient, resource-smart, and sustainable over time. We do this by setting overarching strategies, procuring common agreements, and supporting the entire City of Gothenburg with services in purchasing, such as purchasing analysis, training, and various types of consulting services.

The City of Gothenburg purchases goods and services for around 27 billion SEK each year. This makes us one of Sweden's largest purchasers, and with that comes great responsibility and significant opportunities. In our centrally located offices, about 100 driven colleagues work together to make a difference for those who live, work, and study in Gothenburg.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a strategic purchaser in the Procurement and Purchasing Administration, you will be responsible for developing the purchasing work for your category area for the City of Gothenburg. This involves developing and implementing strategies at the category and contract level. Together with various specialist roles, you will develop strategies to achieve the city's goals and contribute to a sustainable city, ecologically, socially, and economically. You will also be contract responsible for city-wide agreements within the category area, which means ensuring that agreements are developed, procured, implemented, managed, and followed up. Part of the job will involve conducting procurements, but it may also mean handing over the procurement to a procurement specialist who will carry out the procurement.

As a strategic purchaser, you will handle many contacts, and you enjoy collaborating to create added value. You will work closely with the city's operations to understand and meet customer needs. You have an interest in building knowledge and following trends within the industries and supplier markets of the category area.

You will belong to the technology and property unit, which has 11 employees. We are now looking for a strategic purchaser with responsibility in the IT category.

QUALIFICATIONS

For this position, we are looking for someone with several years of experience in conducting procurements in the public sector and relevant post-secondary education for the position. If you have procurement experience with framework agreements in IT, we see it as an advantage. Experience in category-driven purchasing work or strategic work in a larger organization is also advantageous.

To succeed in this role, it is essential that you are self-assured and have a genuine desire to make good deals with the best interests of Gothenburg's residents in focus. You can place your own operations' significance in a broader context and collaborate with others to find good solutions and create value. You monitor the external environment and follow trends in the category area, see solutions, and develop where change is needed.

You are skilled in project management and can balance customer needs and other aspects that contribute to a good result with the customer in focus. You drive your own work forward while also enjoying being part of a group and easily collaborating with others. You are attentive and actively seek others' opinions and perspectives.
