Do you enjoy both development and IT? Do you like problem-solving and responsibility? We are now looking for a System Developer at WISI Norden, where the focus is on development but where you will also contribute to ensuring that the company's IT environment functions!

As a System Developer, you will be responsible for the company's internal support systems and tools. The work includes installation and maintenance of software, troubleshooting, cybersecurity, and support for development tools and infrastructure. You will also provide technical support and assistance to ensure that development can proceed safely and efficiently.

In this role, you will also manage the ongoing maintenance of IT equipment for the office in Linköping, such as purchasing equipment, updating systems, onboarding/offboarding users in the systems, and more. The work is carried out in close contact with our corporate IT department in Germany. 

Examples of responsibilities:

• Support and further development of software, R&D – Further development, installation, upgrading, and troubleshooting of software and systems used for the development of products and services.

• Development tools – Support for development tools, version control systems, and other tools.

• Support for general software – Installation, upgrading, and troubleshooting of general software used within the company, e.g., ERP systems.

• Keeping networks and infrastructure updated.

• Server support – Operation and upgrading.

• Security – Protection against cyberattacks and other security risks.

• Documentation of the IT environment.

Examples of tasks that may arise:

• Security measures – You will participate in implementing security measures to protect the development environment from cyberattacks.

• Installation of a new development tool – If the development department needs to install a new development tool, you can assist and perform the installation.

• Troubleshooting a bug in development software/system – If a developer discovers a bug in software used for development, it is your role to assist in troubleshooting and resolving the issue.

To fit this role, you have worked with system development for 1-2 years and have a data-related educational background. We believe you have a strong personal interest in development and have likely developed a lot in your spare time alongside your studies and previous work. You have a broad knowledge of many different programming languages. Examples of languages you may encounter in the role at WISI include Ruby, C#, PHP, among others.

There are no specific requirements for general IT skills, other than that you are someone who has always been interested in computers and has probably built and installed computers in your spare time. 

You are proficient in both Swedish and English, both spoken and written. 

We believe you are a person who enjoys working closely with others while also having the ability to work independently. You are proactive in determining what to focus on, making it important that you are good at driving your own work forward.

We also believe that you are passionate about developing, streamlining, and simplifying – all to contribute to ensuring that the development process flows as smoothly as possible without obstacles. You are social and communicative, as the role involves a lot of contact with colleagues both locally and at other offices within the group.

WISI Norden has about 20 employees and is part of the larger WISI group. In Linköping, we develop headends for video and TV networks. Our products handle large amounts of data in municipal networks and facilities worldwide. We enable professional TV distribution through various technologies such as optics, radio, encryption, and compression.

In Linköping, we develop both software and hardware. We take pride in being involved in the entire design and lifecycle of our products!
