Do you have a good understanding of the market, are skilled in negotiations, and passionate about long-term supplier relationships? We are looking for someone who wants to take full ownership of strategic purchasing within an exciting industry!

What you will do

As a Senior Strategic Buyer, you will be a key player with a goal to support the client's existing buyers by independently taking responsibility for tasks related to sourcing, supplier changes, market tests, and new projects where your focus will be on:

• Initiating and driving sourcing activities and cost reductions within selected material categories (aluminum & castings).
• Developing and implementing purchasing strategies within your segment.
• Leading strategic purchasing work within specific commodities.
• Negotiating contracts and coordinating supplier integration with internal stakeholders.
• Establishing and developing processes for supplier relationships and continuous improvement.
• Analyzing market developments affecting the availability and/or pricing of materials and services.
• Collaborating with internal parties to:

Identify sourcing needs, design purchasing and market profiles, identify trends, define service levels.

You will work both operationally and strategically – with the freedom to lead your areas and coach more junior colleagues when needed. You will also work to contribute to transformation initiatives such as digitization and sustainability (at a more advanced level).

We are looking for someone who:

• Has at least 5 years of relevant experience in strategic purchasing.

• Is fluent in Swedish and English – both spoken and written.

• Preferably has experience from the automotive industry, which is highly meritorious.

• Is self-driven and proactive.

• Location: Gothenburg, 25% remote work. 

• Period: September 1, 2025 – July 16, 2027.
