We are looking for a senior accounting economist for our client in Stockholm. You will be part of a team of specialists in IFRS and national accounting principles responsible for preparing bookkeeping, managing year-end closings, supporting external audits, and delivering financial reports. The organization is divided into country-specific teams within General Accounting.

Part of the daily work with Accounting R2R activities is outsourced to a BPO provider, and one of the key tasks is to ensure deliveries and drive process improvements. Financial accounting is an area in constant development, which means we are also changing. Your main tasks and responsibilities:

A central part of the role is to be responsible for the general ledger in accordance with both statutory and internal requirements for the various units of the business. You will also lead the external audit process and act as an accounting expert.

• Ensure that all bookkeeping information is handled correctly and ensure correct bookings according to IFRS and local GAAP, including the preparation of booking instructions for the external service provider.
• Draft accounting memorandums for new accounting principles, as well as discuss and coordinate these with group accounting and, if necessary, external auditors.
• Support and contribute to system closing activities, perform controls, and ensure that internal control requirements (IFC) are met within set time frames.
• Calculate provisions and accruals or manage the calculation process, as well as set requirements for data models if calculations are made in the business.
• Prepare annual reports for all legal entities in the relevant country and drive the process forward in close collaboration with the respective unit management.
• Lead the external audit process and act as the contact person for the auditors.
• Contribute to good relationships and deliver a high level of service to both internal customers and external partners, including the outsourced service provider.
• Perform services with high quality and within set time frames according to common processes, guidelines, and policies.
• Suggest process improvements to process owners and specialists.
• Participate in development projects within Finance Business Support or in group-wide and cross-functional projects.

Requirements:

• 3–5 years of experience in accounting and statutory reporting within a complex organization or group
• Good industry knowledge and understanding of financial processes
• Very good knowledge of accounting standards (IFRS and at least one national accounting framework)
• Good understanding of all financial processes, especially the R2R process from start to finish
• Strong interest in IT-based reporting systems and a good overall understanding of IT
• Full professional proficiency in both Swedish and English
• Relevant university degree
