About the American High School, Uppsala

The school is centrally located in the Luthagen area. The school is now in its third academic year and has approximately 260 students studying in the Natural Sciences, Economics, or Social Sciences programs. Teaching is conducted in both English and Swedish by a competent teaching staff with a strong sense of community.

About the role

As a teacher, you will teach our students Spanish and/or Italian. We are also currently recruiting teachers in Swedish, English, Natural Science, Chemistry, Physical Education, Psychology, and Communication. If you wish to combine Spanish or Italian with another of the above subjects, please indicate that in your application.

You will be responsible for planning, implementing, assessing, and evaluating your own teaching. You are expected to lead lessons based on our pedagogical structure, which you will receive guidance in. You will teach in a digital environment with digital teaching materials combined with traditional literature.

The position is a permanent employment at 60%. The employment begins with a probationary period of 6 months. Start date August 2025.

Your profile

We are primarily looking for someone with a teaching license and experience in teaching, who is qualified to teach Spanish and/or Italian. You have a strong commitment to teaching and want to help develop the operations together with a strong team of colleagues, and you share our educational vision:

You are expected to have good communication skills in both Swedish and English, in both spoken and written form. You have the ability to use a wide range of digital teaching materials and possess a solid digital competence.
