Internationella Engelska Skolan (IES) is a leading independent school group with academic results far above average and a diverse and energetic staff. Teaching is in both Swedish and English, and the hallways are bilingual. The language of meetings and communication amongst the staff is English.

About this vacancy
Internationella Engelska Skolan (IES) Uppsala is a school for grades 4-9 with approximately 750 students and 80 staff members, located in southern Uppsala, near SLU. The school has a bilingual focus, Swedish and English, where parts of the teaching are conducted in English by international teachers.
We are now looking for a certified primary school teacher for grades 4-6 with subject competence in Swedish/Social Studies. The position includes shared mentorship.
Responsibilities:
- Plan, implement, and develop lessons
- Assess student progress, provide constructive feedback, and maintain accurate documentation
- Mentorship for students in one of the classes you teach
- Collaborate with colleagues to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment
- Participate in professional development and contribute to the school community
Who are you?
- You have a teaching degree with certification and authorization to teach Swedish and Social Studies for grades 4-6
- You can express yourself well in both spoken and written Swedish and English.
- You plan, implement, and evaluate teaching and work to create a safe and stimulating learning environment.
- You are a team player and value collaboration within your work teams and enjoy working with people in an international school environment.
- You take responsibility for systematically documenting, analyzing, evaluating, and following up on students' knowledge development.
- You take initiative and have clear leadership in the classroom.
- You communicate clearly and have the ability to motivate and inspire students to embrace new knowledge.
- You have good knowledge of ICT as a pedagogical tool.
- You are passionate about development and a collegial working approach.
We place great importance on personal suitability and expect you to have a genuine interest in children and youth. The position is temporary, a parental leave substitute starting in mid-February 2026. Salary according to agreement, collective agreement exists.
