About Your Role

We are now expanding our Sustainability Team at Åhléns with a Sustainability Specialist. The role involves ensuring that Åhléns as a company and our products meet high sustainability standards, with a particular focus on social and environmental due diligence in the value chain in line with international frameworks and current and upcoming EU legislation.

The role entails developing and implementing processes, routines, and tools to align Åhléns operations and products with the EU's due diligence legislation. You will also be a key person in contributing to Åhléns sustainability reporting.

Examples of tasks: 

  • Develop and implement processes, routines, and tools to ensure that our operations and products meet relevant legal requirements, industry standards, internal sustainability strategies and requirements, and customer expectations.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of policies and strategies.
  • Lead and coordinate development efforts in collaboration with purchasing, design, suppliers, and other relevant functions.
  • Collaborate with suppliers, production offices, and internal teams to ensure that sustainability requirements are met and improvements are implemented.
  • Be responsible for monitoring and analyzing compliance and continuous development.
  • Stay updated on legislation, standards, and market trends in sustainability and implement relevant changes in the organization.
  • Educate and support internal teams on sustainability issues.

You will be part of a small and passionate team of 3 people. You will also work closely with buyers, our production office, and suppliers.

You Bring With You:

  • Several years of experience in developing and implementing sustainability due diligence, preferably within a business that sells similar products to ours.
  • Good understanding of international legislation and frameworks and experience in translating these into business requirements.
  • Experience working with international suppliers and implementing sustainability requirements in global supply chains. 

To succeed in this role, we see that you have a passionate interest in sustainability to drive your work forward in an ever-changing industry. You are solution-oriented and enjoy coming up with concrete proposals on how we can improve working methods, handle deviations, or solve situations that arise.

Since we work in a complex environment where legislation and regulations are constantly evolving, it is crucial that you have a structured approach. Furthermore, we see that you have good communication skills and the ability to build relationships and collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders. 

About the Recruitment

The position is a permanent full-time employment. You will be based at our headquarters at Dalagatan 100 in Stockholm and we hope you can start with us as soon as possible.
