Your new role 

Do you want to contribute to an important development project in the public sector while having flexibility in your everyday life? We are now looking for an engaged and independent consultant who wants to support our governmental client in implementing a changed economic model for the IT department. An exciting part-time assignment where you can make a real difference!

Our client is currently undergoing a transformation regarding the economic model for budgeting, monitoring, and forecasting within the IT operations. We are looking for someone with experience in financial management and an interest in developing effective working methods.

Your role will be to:

• Design solutions and working methods for the new economic model
• Support and guide controllers in the new working methods
• Independently identify methods and tools that strengthen financial work
• Drive your own development ideas and propose improvements
• You will work closely with both the finance function and IT operations, with a significant responsibility to independently translate the organization's needs into practical solutions.

To be successful in this role, you need

• At least a 3-year university degree with a major in finance and IT.
• At least 10 years of work experience as a Controller in a leading position.
• At least 2 years of work experience in portfolio controlling within a large IT operation with at least 1500 employees.
• Current work experience in developing a model for internal financial management for IT operations adapted to the SAFe framework.
• Work experience in project management of investigations aimed at streamlining operations and financial management in a large organization with at least 10,000 employees.
• Desirable: Current experience in governmental management (operations, finance, and IT)
• Desirable: Current experience with economic models in government
• Desirable: Actively worked with UBW and Mercur in assignments for at least 4 years
• Desirable: At least 7 years of work experience in assignments at larger government agencies within the last 10 years.
• Desirable: At least 5 years of work experience with SAFe and development value streams.

Who are you?

We are looking for someone who is driven and engaged, with a willingness to take initiative and actively contribute to the organization's development. You have excellent collaboration and social skills and enjoy working in close dialogue with both controllers, IT specialists, and decision-makers. You also have a good ability to adapt your message based on the audience and can clearly and pedagogically explain financial relationships and effects to different target groups, especially to management teams and decision-makers.

Employment scope: The expected scope of the assignment is about 40%. Employment form: Fixed-term employment as a consultant via JobBusters. Start: 2025-08-04 End: 2026-06-30 with an option for extension of 1+1 year. This includes requirements for security clearance of the consultant. The extent of the security clearance will be communicated at a later stage in the selection process. If the assignment is placed in a security class, the assignment cannot begin until this process has been completed and the start date has been communicated by the client.
