One of our clients in the insurance sector is looking for an experienced corporate economist with deep expertise in closing work. The assignment is based in Stockholm and runs from July 1 to November 30, with a scope of 50–100%.

About the role

The role involves overall responsibility for the closing and reporting processes for a life insurance company. This includes both ongoing monthly closings and more comprehensive quarterly closings, as well as reporting to external parties, such as the Financial Supervisory Authority.

The tasks include:

• Preparation of documentation and bookings
• Result analyses and account reconciliations
• Collaboration with colleagues within and outside the department
• Input of financial results into reporting systems
• Management of reinsurance
• Monthly reporting of VAT and employer declarations

The role is part of a team of accountants and corporate economists. An important aspect of the work is knowledge sharing and further development of internal routines and documentation.

Technical environments and systems

• Accounting system: SAP
• Group reporting: Cognos Controller
• Other: High usage of Excel

Desired competence profile

• Documented experience of the entire closing process, including reporting to the Financial Supervisory Authority according to Solvency 2 and IORP regulations
• Experience with Cognos Controller, SAP, and Excel
• Solid experience in:
• Making bookings and account reconciliations
• Analyzing financial outcomes
• Working independently in complex accounting environments
• Previous work with reporting to group systems

Competence level – Level 4

• Knowledge: Very high competence in accounting, or broad generalist knowledge
• Experience: At least 9–12 years of relevant work experience, including participation in larger assignments
• Leadership: Ability to lead larger groups or processes
• Independence: Ability to work very independently and take full ownership of deliveries
