We are looking for an experienced corporate economist for our client in the insurance industry. The role primarily involves responsibility for financial statements and financial reporting for a life insurance company. This includes both less extensive monthly financial statements and more comprehensive quarterly financial statements, including reporting to, for example, the Financial Supervisory Authority. The work involves gathering documentation, performing accounting actions, analyzing results, reconciling accounts, collaborating with colleagues in different parts of the organization, and reporting results in relevant systems.

In addition to the financial statement work, the role also includes handling reinsurance as well as ongoing reporting of employer declarations and VAT each month. The role is placed in a team with corporate and accounting economists where knowledge sharing and broadening are an important part of the working method. It may also involve updating and improving existing procedural documents. The accounting system used is SAP, group reporting is done in Cognos Controller, and a large part of the work is done in Excel.

REQUIREMENTS

We are looking for someone with experience in reporting to the Financial Supervisory Authority according to Solvency 2 and IORP regulations. You should also have experience in the banking and insurance industry. The client prefers candidates who fit into one of the following levels:

Level 3 – Experienced specialist with leadership ability

• Knowledge: You have deep knowledge in your area and are confident in your role.
• Experience: You have worked 4–8 years in the field and often serve as a support or role model for more junior colleagues.
• Leadership: You can take responsibility for part of a project and lead a small group.
• Independence: You work independently and drive your work forward on your own.

Level 4 – Senior specialist or generalist with broad assignment experience

• Knowledge: You have very high competence in your area – or broad experience from several adjacent areas.
• Experience: You have been involved in large projects and delivered results of very high quality. This corresponds to at least 9–12 years of experience.
• Leadership: You are responsible for leading larger groups or teams.
• Independence: You are very independent and can take overall responsibility in complex situations.

Level 5 – Expert or market-leading authority

• Knowledge: You are a recognized expert in your field – often seen as one of the leading figures in the industry.
• Experience: Similar to level 4, but with even greater depth and breadth.
• Leadership: You have extensive and solid experience working in senior leadership roles.
• Independence: You work very independently and handle strategic and complex issues without support.
