Daily Activities

Do you want a developing job where you have the chance to make a significant difference for individuals receiving support under LSS? Do you want to work during the day, have a varied job, and a secure employer? Then you should apply to us!

Daily activities at Uppsala municipality offer services for individuals who have been granted support under LSS. We have approximately 300 employees and 750 participants in our activities, distributed across many different groups. The work varies greatly among the different groups, including advanced care for individuals with extensive disabilities as well as support for participants who independently perform tasks.

In Nature and Service, there are about 165 participants and around 85 employees distributed across approximately 30 activities. Within Nature and Service, we guide individuals with moderate to severe social, communicative, and challenging support needs in commonly occurring tasks within daily activities.

The tasks are varied and include, for example, transporting fruit baskets and sorted materials to and from companies, creative workshops, outdoor activities in forests and fields, as well as coffee breaks. We are also primarily responsible for transportation to and from the users' activities.

As a substitute worker, you will work in several of our daily activities and replace regular staff during their absence.

Your Mission

Your work includes providing individual support and services in accordance with the Act on Support and Service for Certain Disabled Persons (LSS) to the participants of the activity based on assistance decisions, working to ensure that participants can live as independently, actively, and meaningfully as possible based on individual circumstances, wishes, and needs, as well as acting for good quality and goal fulfillment according to orders, implementation plans, and governing documents.

Other tasks included in the role:

  • Conduct activities with participants both in groups and individually
  • Support participants in their daily tasks
  • Support colleagues in other activities
  • Collaborate with other staff.

Your Background

We are looking for someone with a high school education. If you have education in Health and Care, Children and Leisure, and further education in care, pedagogy, or behavioral science, it is considered an advantage. We prefer candidates with experience in LSS activities, health and care, or similar fields. The role requires good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written, as well as a B driver's license. Knowledge of low-arousal approaches, alternative communication, and pedagogy is a plus.

As a person, you are empathetic and can quickly understand someone else's perspective or situation. Furthermore, you are flexible and see opportunities in changes, as well as being communicative and able to listen and adapt your communication style. We also see that you are pedagogical and understand people's different abilities to absorb knowledge. Additionally, you have good collaboration skills and relate to others in a considerate and smooth manner, and you remain calm and collected in various situations, focusing on the right things.
