About the Job

Location: North of Uppsala (between Björklinge and Storvreta)
Employment type: Part-time, approx. 25%
Working hours: Daytime, afternoon/evening, and weekends

Description

We are looking for someone with a pedagogical flair who wants to work with a 13-year-old girl at school and home. The job involves being the girl's support in all everyday situations. The girl is a cheerful and energetic young lady who knows what she likes. She has multiple disabilities and is training to learn to walk and communicate with pictures and signs. She enjoys school, especially her friends, sports, and swimming lessons. At school, she needs someone who can help her engage with the lessons in an interactive and playful way so that she can benefit from them in the best way possible. At home, she enjoys going out into nature to look at animals or motor vehicles, playing around, and never says no to jumping on the trampoline or swinging. Hearing you read is great, or you can sing a little together. Playing with the iPad is another favorite. She is tube-fed and receives inhalations, and at night she sometimes needs oxygen as needed. Requirements

• DRIVER'S LICENSE AND CAR
• Driver's license and access to a car as the family lives about 1.5 miles from Uppsala with poor bus connections during working hours and a few kilometers to the nearest bus stop
• Ability to master and understand the Swedish language both in speech and writing
• Good initiative and ability to work independently
• Physical ability to assist with transfers, e.g., in and out of a wheelchair (assistive devices are available)
• A background check will be requested to work with children with disabilities

Meritorious

• Creativity and ability to read and adapt to different situations
• Experience working with children with disabilities
• Experience in pedagogical work or education in pedagogy

The job also includes stepping in extra during illness and absence, preferably also at night during the absence of regular night staff.
