JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

We are looking for someone who wants to work as a companion and respite caregiver for a 14-year-old. As a companion, your role is to accompany the individual to and from activities outside the home, such as going to the movies, visiting activity centers/skate parks/green areas, or having coffee. As a companion, you facilitate social contacts and leisure activities in a safe environment. As a respite caregiver, you typically work in someone's home, temporarily taking over caregiving duties. As a respite caregiver, you enable the guardian to have time to relax or engage in activities on their own or with siblings.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone with a genuine interest in helping others. You start from the individual’s needs and interests and adapt to situations. You are relationship-building and collaborative. To thrive in your role, it is important that you see each person and understand how important you are in contributing to a meaningful everyday life. It is essential that you are cooperative, inventive, self-assured, and have great patience, as this creates security in your role as a companion and respite caregiver.
