JOB DESCRIPTION

Karlfeldt High School offers twelve national programs, eight vocational programs, and four college preparatory programs. Karlfeldt High School has a close collaboration with the local and national business community, providing opportunities to educate our students according to the needs of the job market.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND REQUIREMENTS:

Responsible for organizing, structuring, and conducting teaching in reliability and maintenance based on educational documents and tools, with support from other colleagues. Part of a team of 6-8 where there will be a shared responsibility for the tasks within the team's area of responsibility.

JOB DUTIES:

  • Teaching character subjects in reliability and maintenance at the high school and adult education level.
  • Acting as a mentor to a class
  • Encouraging students to take initiative and responsibility for their own development.
  • Engaging in a good dialogue with students about their goals.
  • Actively working to clarify and communicate knowledge requirements and assessment criteria, and identifying students' development needs.
  • Collaborating with colleagues and students' guardians on issues related to individuals' development.
  • Actively contributing to the school's and subject's development through environmental monitoring in your subject areas.

QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge - Language, Swedish

Have a nuanced language, a vocabulary that allows for effective written and oral communication

We want you as a teacher to be interested in having a good dialogue with students and to see students' goals as a positive challenge

Knowledge - Curriculum

Not required for fixed-term employment but considered a merit.

Knowledge - Didactic Competence

Ability to teach and be knowledgeable in the subjects. Communicative and easy to follow and understand.

Education/Experience

Certified vocational teacher with the qualifications to teach character subjects in *subject area* at the high school level, or work experience in a relevant professional field with pedagogical training, skill, and knowledge in the subject

Trained in drawing theory

One of the central tasks is for students to understand and work according to drawings.

Teaching experience at the high school level in the industrial program

Experience in relevant subjects teaching at the high school and adult education levels.

Practical work experience in reliability and maintenance in the industrial sector.

Education: Teacher training and certification

Teacher certification and a teaching degree with qualifications to teach character subjects relevant to the position at the high school level, or relevant work experience in the profession deemed equivalent by the employer

Completed teacher certification and approved teacher training = requirement for permanent employment

For fixed-term employment, priority is given as follows:

  1. University education in the area/areas in which one will teach
  2. Pedagogical university education
  3. Relevant work experience in the profession deemed equivalent by the employer, along with experience in pedagogical situations, perhaps as a teacher or sports leader, or similar

Knowledge - Leadership Skills

If the teacher does not have full leadership skills, they should be assessed as having the potential to develop them.

By leadership skills, we mean that the teacher can:

  • motivate and create engagement
  • establish order, clarity, and empathy while being attentive and caring.
  • act as an adult role model and have good judgment.
  • reflect on their own leadership and identify their strengths and areas for development.
  • take responsibility for adapting leadership based on different students' needs.
  • Handle various group processes, group development, and conflict management.

Experience

Documented experience in teaching, assessing, and grading in the relevant subject areas for the position.
