The Swedish National Heritage Board is the national authority that leads and supports the work of preserving, using, and developing cultural heritage. Our operations are located in Visby, Stockholm, and Tumba, and we also conduct public activities at the visitor destination Glimmingehus. We have approximately 250 employees.

We are looking for a proactive, engaged, and strategic communicator.

You will primarily work with the organization and be part of various working groups where you contribute with your communication skills. You easily grasp new issues and are driven to create relevant and educational communication for those we aim to reach within the authority's mission. This may involve topics such as the protection of cultural heritage during crises and wars, digitalization of cultural heritage, cultural heritage research, or how we preserve and develop cultural heritage in our built environment.

The position is located in the communications unit, which is responsible for the authority's external and internal communication. The unit currently has about ten employees and is led by the authority's communications manager. Here, you will join a safe and creative team in a supportive work environment. We have employees both in Stockholm and Visby and work digitally first with up to 50% remote work.

Your tasks

The main task is to support other parts of the authority in their communication efforts. Your tasks will vary across several different projects, focusing on the operational side, but planning communication and project management will also be included. You will utilize the entire toolbox of a communicator – planning, implementing, and following up on communication efforts both externally and internally. Monitoring the external environment to create relevance and added value in communication and to contextualize issues is a natural working method for you. You will work with editorial content, various types of texts, films, and images to reach our target groups. Together with your colleagues in the unit, you will also contribute to developing and implementing the communications unit's overall mission.

We view positively if you have specific knowledge and interest in digital development and have worked with AI in your communication.

Your qualifications

We are looking for someone who has:

• Several years of post-secondary education with a focus on communication.
• At least three years of relevant experience working as a communicator with both strategic and operational assignments.
• At least three years of experience handling various texts, such as news articles, social media posts, and factual material on the web, and compiling larger text masses into simple and comprehensible messages.
• Experience assessing and producing content for various digital channels.
• A high level of digital competence.
• Good knowledge of publishing tools for web and social media, including basic knowledge of GDPR, copyright, and accessibility directives.
• Very good knowledge of Swedish in speech and writing.

It is advantageous if you have:

• Experience working with digital learning tools.
• Good ability to create and maintain relationships at all levels within the organization.
• Ability and experience working independently with communication and managing or driving multiple projects simultaneously.
• Experience in driving and teaching the communication perspective in dialogue with internal and external stakeholders.
• Worked with communication in a knowledge organization or in an organization with a defined expert role.

The employment is a permanent position with a 6-month probationary period. The position is located in Stockholm or Visby with the possibility of remote work up to 50%.
