E.ON is looking for a Sustainability Coordinator
E.ON is an international privately-owned energy company. 70,000 employees in 15 countries work daily to develop technical innovations and user-friendly customer solutions for the new energy world. We are the first major energy company to truly focus on future energy solutions through our business areas for smart grids and customer solutions.
About us
The Sustainability team within the Energy Distribution area is responsible for driving the sustainability agenda across the entire business area. Our team is tasked with taking a comprehensive approach to sustainability issues and ensuring that we translate ambitions and strategies into concrete actions.
We work both strategically and operationally by analyzing trends and impulses from the outside world and the group, creating direction and goals, and supporting the business in the changes required. To succeed, we need to work cross-functionally, collaborate with our experts and core team, and ensure that the entire organization has the right tools to contribute to our sustainability goals.
About the role
As a Sustainability Coordinator with us, you will, together with a small dedicated team, have overall responsibility for driving and developing sustainability work within the organization. You will be an important interface with the business and help our various departments identify and implement measures to achieve our climate goals.
An important part of the role is to:
- Translate the sustainability strategy into concrete initiatives and support the business in the changes required.
- Drive both strategic and operational sustainability initiatives such as the Sustainability Guide, where we map and analyze how different parts of the business impact sustainability areas.
- Act as expert support and sounding board for the organization on sustainability-related issues.
- Participate in both internal and external sustainability forums to develop our work and contribute to the industry's sustainable transition.
- Work cross-functionally and create engagement throughout the organization to drive sustainable change.
Your experience
We are looking for someone with experience working on sustainability issues related to energy, climate, and the environment. You may have a background as an engineer, environmental scientist, or in another relevant field, but the most important thing is that you have worked on sustainability issues at a strategic level and have a comprehensive understanding of relevant standards and regulations.
To succeed in the role, you need to have:
- Experience in driving sustainability initiatives and leading change efforts.
- The ability to navigate a changing world and transform complex sustainability challenges into clear strategies and actions.
- An understanding of how to create engagement in an organization and get various stakeholders on board.
- A good balance between strategic thinking and operational drive – you can see the bigger picture but also dive into details when needed.
- Experience working cross-functionally and collaborating with different parts of an organization.
We are on a transformation journey where we are becoming increasingly data-driven to make smarter and more accurate decisions regarding sustainability. This means you will play an important role in setting strategic goals and guiding the organization in the right direction.
We welcome you to apply for the position by 28/4.
The position is subject to E.ON's vacancy assessment process, where we first evaluate the possibility of matching surplus employees with the position. However, we welcome all interested candidates to submit their applications.
